Proximus successfully issues EUR 500 million Bond
Today, Proximus successfully issued a new 7-year bond for an amount of EUR 500 million, to be listed on Euronext Brussels.
On 1 March 2023, Proximus successfully priced its EUR 500 million bond transaction. The bonds carry a coupon of 4.00% and have a 7-year maturity due 8 March 2030. The settlement of the bonds will take place on 8 March 2023 and the bonds are expected to be admitted to trading on Euronext on or about the same day. The issue is rated BBB+ by S&P and A2 by Moody's, in line with the long-term credit rating of Proximus.
The issuance was very well received with an order book in excess of EUR 1.45 billion (almost 3 times oversubscribed) and was placed with more than 100 European institutional investors. The success of this transaction testifies to the quality and strength of the Proximus credit as well as the strong appetite of investors in the institutional bond markets. The transaction fits well into Proximus' long-term funding strategy.
The proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including refinancing of existing debt, especially the EUR 100 million institutional private placement maturing in May 2023.
Barclays, BNP Paribas, Bred Banque Populaire, Commerzbank and KBC acted as joint bookrunners for this transaction.
