Proximus Ada and Paradigm work together for safer Digital Public Spaces and accessible cybersecurity for all Brussels residents
The Proximus Group and Paradigm, a public interest organization and player in the digital transformation of the Brussels-Capital Region and its authorities, wish to contribute to a safer digital environment, where all Brussels residents, whatever their level of knowledge and means, are able to protect themselves effectively against the dangers of cybercrime.
In this context, employees of Proximus Ada, the Proximus Group subsidiary specializing in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, will be offering their skills and expertise free of charge to the Brussels Digital Public Spaces (DPS), via a project called "Secure Public Digital Spaces".
The Brussels DPS are areas fitted with computer equipment that are available for the general public to use. Initiation sessions and training courses on computer literacy are also on offer. Their aim is to make digital technology accessible to the whole population.
The "Secure Public Digital Spaces" project will enable Brussels DPS, which serve some of the most vulnerable and least digitally literate citizens, to provide the following services free of charge:
- Information and advice workshops on cybersecurity for DPS users;
- Basic cybersecurity training for DPS facilitators/coordinators;
- A complete verification of the security level of DPS infrastructures.
The DPS will be free to choose the services they want from Proximus Ada.
The framework partnership agreement between Proximus Ada and Paradigm will be signed in the presence of Guillaume Boutin, Chief Executive Officer of the Proximus Group, and Bernard Clerfayt, Minister of the Brussels-Capital Region Government, in charge of, among other things, the digital transition.
Proximus wants to contribute to a safer society, where all citizens, whatever their level of education and means, have the opportunity to protect themselves effectively against the dangers of cybercrime. By bringing the expertise and skills of our Proximus Ada employees to the Brussels Digital Public Spaces, we aim to help some of the most vulnerable and least digitally literate citizens.
At a time when digitisation is continuing to develop at breakneck speed, including within government departments, we need to ensure the security of citizens' data. But we also need to provide them with better tools to prevent their data being stolen. What password should I choose? Am I on a secure website? Can I open this attachment? Thanks to this collaboration between Paradigm and Proximus, EPN users will receive a whole range of practical advice to better protect themselves from hackers and surf the web in complete security.
This partnership between Proximus Ada and Paradigm will enable us to ensure increased online security for the least digitally literate residents of Brussels, as well as for DPS employees. DPS users will be able to learn how to use new technologies securely, while benefiting from advice on how to spot fraud. DPS facilitators and coordinators will have the necessary knowledge to support them effectively, particularly in terms of data protection and the use of complex, unique passwords.
