UEFA Champions League resumes on Proximus Pickx with PSG-Real!
This Tuesday, 15 February, the UEFA Champions League resumes with the first leg of the round of 16 and, as usual, Proximus will be the only operator in Belgium to broadcast all the matches. A team of experienced experts will continue to provide the best coverage from the most beautiful stadiums in Europe and will bring all the Champions League news to football fans via different formats from Monday to Thursday. To top it all off, a brand new studio has been built, which, thanks to the latest technology and numerous graphic and digital possibilities, guarantees the best editorial approach possible.
Messi's PSG to open against Courtois' Real!
As in the group stage, premium football fans have a front seat for the best European football matches on the Pickx+ Sports channels, included in the TV option Pickx Sports. Proximus is the only operator in Belgium to broadcast all the matches live.
The draw for the 1/8th round of the UEFA Champions League has provided Proximus subscribers with some splendid matches. On Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 February, football fans can look forward to two exceptional evenings with PSG-Real Madrid and Inter Milan-Liverpool. Fans can look forward to the exciting duel between Lionel Messi and Thibaut Courtois!
A brand new studio to guarantee the best editorial approach possible
To ensure the unique coverage of the UEFA Champions League, Proximus can also count on a top team of commentators and experts in the second half of the season.
After 8 years of broadcasting in the familiar Proximus Media House studio, the Pickx Sports team is moving into a brand new, multifunctional studio. Since the works could only start after the last Champions League night in December, some 60 people have been working very hard these past weeks to accomplish this amazing feat. As of tomorrow, the Proximus experts will ensure the best possible editorial presentation in a beautiful, modular environment with the latest technologies and endless graphic and digital possibilities. Not only for the Champions League broadcasts, but for all future Pickx+ productions.
The audiovisual material from the "old" Pickx studio will be given away to schools, which can use it as teaching material.
RECAP: Pre-match commentary, live coverage, analysis and summaries in different formats
Also after the winter break Proximus will continue to focus on editorial and expert quality. From Monday to Thursday, it will cover UEFA Champions League news in all its forms and on different media. Below is an overview of the different formats.
The Champions Club
Every Monday of each European week, Vincenzo Ciuro (FR) and Nicolas De Brabander (NL) and their consultants of the day will be at the ready in the run-up to the two upcoming UEFA Champions League evenings and debrief the European news in an audio and video podcast. The program will include the fixtures not to be missed, the players to look out for, exclusive interviews, the performances of our Red Devils, and more. The podcast will be available to watch and replay for free on Pickx.be, as well as in the Pickx on-demand section for TV customers. It is also available on Apple Music and Spotify.
Studio, Multi Live and live matches!
Every Tuesday and Wednesday during the UEFA Champions League, there will be studio, Multi Live and live match broadcasts. From 8.15pm onwards, Marc Delire or Vincenzo Ciuro (FR) and Peter Vandenbempt, Nicolas De Brabander or Niko Lainé (NL) will be warming up for the evening ahead with their consultants of the day. Thanks to the various Pickx+ Sports channels and Pickx+ (included in the TV option All Sports), customers can pick the match they want to watch from among all the matches being played simultaneously, or enjoy a unique experience by following all the matches at the same time thanks to Multi Live, Proximus' flagship and exclusive program for several seasons now. This is the program that allows subscribers to move from stadium to stadium, following the important or decisive actions, so that they don't miss anything of each match.
Post-match reactions and summaries
Every Thursday of each European week, Proximus teams will debrief, analyze and comment on the results and highlights of the two UEFA Champions League evenings in Flash Back (FR) / Terugvlucht (NL), an original and short format available on Pickx.be and YouTube, featuring unreleased behind-the-scenes footage from our traveling commentators and experts.
Goals, highlights and summaries of all the matches are available on Pickx.be. The UEFA Champions League magazines can be watched on the Pickx+ Sports channels and will also be available "On Demand" on the Pickx platform (TV, web and app).
A unique and interactive experience thanks to the Pickx app
While all UEFA Champions League matches are of course available everywhere and on all screens thanks to the Proximus Pickx app, the latter also offers a unique experience thanks to its "interactive video player", which allows you to relive the best actions of the match in just one click, discover the details of the composition of the teams, check the key statistics of the match or browse through the history of the matches between the two teams.
