Guillaume Boutin joins the Vodafone Group as CEO Vodafone Investments & Strategy and will leave the Proximus Group mid-May
Proximus Group today announces that Guillaume Boutin, within the Group for 7 years and CEO since December 2019, will leave the Proximus Group by mid-May to join the Vodafone Group as CEO Vodafone Investments & Strategy. He will also be member of the Vodafone Group executive committee. The Board of Directors of Proximus Group regrets to see Guillaume Boutin leaving but is grateful for his outstanding contribution to the growth of Proximus.
During his CEO mandate, Guillaume initiated a major acceleration in the fiber and 5G roll-out in Belgium and paved the way to collaboration agreements with peers to limit the duplication of fiber networks. In an atmosphere of constructive collaboration with the social partners, he steered the company, executing the bold2025 strategy, a strong strategy creating both domestic growth and opening the company to international expansion. Together with his leadership squad he transformed Proximus into the leading Belgian operator in terms of growth and commercial results and achieved significant milestones, such as the creation of Proximus NXT and the launch of Proximus Global, one of the worldwide leaders in Digital Communications.
Until his departure date, Guillaume will put all his energy to keep the momentum of Proximus going. In the meantime, the Board will start the search for a successor.
I would like to thank Guillaume for his immense contribution to the Proximus Group and its growth. I’m proud of the way he led the organization and of his strategic contributions that will shape the future of the company. His departure will surely create intense emotions in the Proximus community. At the same time, this great opportunity and the move to this top position in a renowned international group shows the recognition of his vision and talent. In his role of CEO, his leadership and strong execution of the strategic transformation program repositioned Proximus successfully for long-term profitable growth on the domestic as well as international markets and ensured the roll-out of both mobile and fixed networks of the future. The Board has full confidence in the strong team that Guillaume built and that will ensure the continuity of the strategy, contributing to the long term success of the company. The Board wishes Guillaume all the best in his new role and explicitly wants to thank him for everything he brought to the Proximus Group.
Proximus is well-prepared for the future and can count on strong foundations and incredible talents. Major transformations have been initiated in the last years and the management, together with their teams, will further execute them with the same drive. I am convinced that the current management team will deliver on all our ambitions and make the right decisions moving forward.
