Studies of nPerf and Ookla® show that Proximus’ fiber network outperforms competition in terms of speed and performance
Proximus has been recognized for its outstanding fiber network performance by nPerf and Ookla®, two international institutions specialized in measuring network quality and speed. Whereas Ookla® grants Proximus fiber the Speedtest Award for Fastest Internet in Belgium (Q3-Q4 2024), nPerf's Barometer of Fixed Internet shows that fiber allows to reach much higher speeds compared to other technologies. Both recognitions underline Proximus' leading position in network performance and show how continuous investments in fiber are key to ensure an unparalleled experience for customers.
Proximus delivers the “No.1 Fixed Internet Performance”, according to nPerf
nPerf, an independent French company offering complete solutions to test and analyse network performance, has just published its yearly Barometer of Fixed Internet connections, based on thousands of free speed tests performed by internet users in their respective country. This results in an nPerf score, expressed in nPoints, reflecting the global quality of the connection as experienced by the user and covering different elements such as download and upload speeds, latency, web browsing and streaming experience.
Based on more than 400.000 tests carried out in Belgium, Proximus was crowned this year's winner with an overall score of 130,251 nPoints, largely outperforming the competition. Proximus clearly marks a difference in terms of upload speeds, reaching 100 Mbps on average. On ultra-high-speed connections (offering download speeds over 100 Mbps), Proximus significantly outperforms its competitors across all parameters, with download speeds around twice as high and upload speeds between 10 and 20 times higher than those of other operators. This highlights the exceptional strengths of fiber, making the difference versus other broadband technologies.

Ookla® grants Proximus a Speedtest Award for “Fastest Internet in Belgium Q3-Q4 2024”
Next to this recognition, Proximus' fiber network also recently obtained the Ookla® Speedtest Award for Fastest Internet in Belgium for the third and fourth quarter of 2024. The award is based on over 4 million user-initiated tests of fixed network connections with different providers, taken on various applications. With a top download speed of 828.66 Mbps and a top upload speed of 506.95 Mbps, measurements on Proximus fiber were considerably higher compared to competitors' networks.
In May 2024, Ookla®, a global leader in connectivity intelligence, had also recognized Proximus fiber as the “fastest internet in Belgium”.
