Proximus' new sports season

We kick off the new sports season with a broader, simpler sports offer for our TV customers and the change of the 11 and 11+ channels towards Proximus Sports
In a few days, the Jupiler Pro League and the Proximus League, as well as the best European championships, will resume for a new season. TV customers who subscribe to one of the sports options will of course be able to follow the different championships. With something totally new this year: all these subscribers can from now on follow all the competitions on tv as well as via proximuspickx.be and the Proximus Pickx app. To simplify its sports offer, Proximus decided, as of 1 July, to merge its "Belgian Sports" and "International Sports" options and keep only the "All Sports" option. The latter will now be the go-to place for sports fanatics in Proximus' catalog of TV options.
By only keeping the "All Sports" option, Proximus no longer distinguishes between Belgian and international sport. This change reflects the interests of the majority of sports fans. Because, while they look forward to seeing the effects of Vincent Kompany's return to the Jupiler Pro League, they are also eager to watch Eden Hazard's first matches in his new club, Real Madrid. And the same applies to basketball fans, for example, who like watching the matches of the Belgian championship just as much as the NBA matches.
Since 1 July, all subscribers to the "Belgian Sports" option therefore have access to the content of the "International Sports" option, and vice versa, they'll be able to watch all the matches of the Jupiler Pro League, the UEFA Champions League, the Proximus League, the Euromillions Basketball League, and the Audi Hockey League, while on the three Eleven Sports channels they'll have access to, among other things, the best of the Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, MLS, FA Cup, NBA, NFL, and UFC Fighting. The European Hockey championship on grass, to be held from 16 untill 25 August in Antwerp, will also be broadcast on Eleven Sports. And lest we forget, the channels Eurosport 2, Motorvision TV, Automoto and Extreme Sports also form part of the "All Sports" option.
To ease the transition and allow existing "Belgian Sports" and "International Sports" subscribers to discover all this new content at their leisure, these subscribers will continue to pay the same monthly rate as today until the 1st of March 2020. After this eight-month discovery period, they will be definitively transferred to the "All Sports" option (and therefore subject to the price of €16.99/month).
The 11 and 11+ channels become “Proximus Sports”
Another big change in this new sporting season is the replacement of the traditional Proximus 11 channels (devoted to Belgian sport) and Proximus 11+ (devoted to international sport) by 10 new Proximus Sports channels, available on channels 101 to 110. These channels, which have a completely new look, aim to become the reference point for all sports fanatics in Belgium, whether on television, the web or social media.
The Proximus Sports offer is not limited to live matches, since the first channel, accessible on both channel 14 and channel 101, will also offer 7 days a week, 24 hours a day sports documentaries and weekly programs. Without forgetting, of course, the in-depth analyses of the Proximus Sports commentators and analysts, notably Marc Delire, Vincenzo Ciuro, Peter Vandenbempt, Nicolas De Brabander and many more!
This season, the Proximus Sports football offer will thus build on the positive momentum of previous seasons, allowing TV viewers to experience the matches as if they were in the stadium, thanks to the presence of commentators and analysts right next to the field and to the immediate on-the spot reactions of players and trainers. In addition, Proximus will remain a loyal partner of the Belgian Football Union by broadcasting the Under-21 matches and supporting women's football.
Proximus will also continue to invest in a varied sports offer, as demonstrated by the richness of the "All Sports" option: besides Belgian and international football, Proximus will also give more visibility to cycling, cyclo-cross, hockey and Belgian basketball. Two examples: Proximus Sports recently broadcast the different stages of the Tour de Suisse in cycling, as well as the women's cyclo-cross competitions.
