Proximus and Destiny announce commercial Fiber-to-the-Business wholesale deal
Proximus has reached an agreement on a Fiber-to-the-Business wholesale deal with the scaleup company Destiny, a provider of cloud communication solutions for innovative enterprises. In the framework of the agreement, Proximus will provide Destiny with flexible bitstream access to its Fiber network.
The deal can be seen as a fruit of the important role Proximus takes on in the deployment of fiber in Belgium. In the context of its Fiber for Belgium investment plan, Proximus announced a 3 billion € investment to accelerate the roll-out of the fiber network. These major investments in faster broadband networks are crucial to give companies and citizens access to the most advanced digital services, while anticipating future needs in terms of connectivity and network capacity. Proximus’ open fiber network also enables other operators to provide their own services, based on flexible access solutions that will further enable a competitive broadband market in Belgium.
Destiny has been Benelux’s leading independent provider of cloud communication solutions for many years. Destiny’s cloud interaction platform allows companies to communicate more efficiently from any location and with any device, because telecom and IT integrate seamlessly in the underlying architecture. As a result, Destiny offers very flexible and scalable solutions, perfectly fitting the needs of the client and our partners. Proximus’ fiber roll-out further reinforces our possibilities to make the access to our cloud interaction platform more efficient and safe.
Wholesale plays an important part in the roll-out of the optical fiber network in the framework of the Fiber for Belgium project. From the outset, Proximus opened its network through an offer based on bitstream access. Fiber is an opportunity for the sector as a whole, and for Belgium, Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels, to fully embrace the future of the digital society. That is why we are very pleased to welcome wholesale partners such as Destiny onto the fiber network, to make our investment a success for all our customers.
