Proximus and its partners build NxtPort, a digital data platform for the Antwerp Port Community

On 26 January 2017, the Antwerp Port Community launched its unique data utility platform NxtPort. With NxtPort the Port of Antwerp is readying itself for a rapidly changing world and economy. A world in which every object and every process can be made intelligent and in which data can be turned in real time into relevant insights to enable better decisions to be made.

At Proximus we are very proud to be part of the consortium that has been awarded the bid to build the NxtPort Platform and the NxtPort Market. We are doing this in partnership with Microsoft and with Nallian, a Belgian data exchange expert with deep logistics expertise.

Solution based on the innovative Proximus EnCo platform

Together with our partners we will deliver a state-of-the-art platform that will enable data to be shared securely and new solutions to be built quickly as it will be easy to find digital building blocks on the NxtPort Market.

The NxtPort Market uses the capabilities of the Proximus EnCo platform ( On the EnCo platform, developers and companies have easy access to the technologies of Proximus and its partners so they can create new solutions and applications in a fully digital way. The Proximus EnCo platform was built over the past year in an agile and digital manner, in constant interaction with our target customers during hackathons and workshops. It is a fine example of Proximus becoming a provider of digital services.

Vibrant ecosystem of companies, developers and IT players

The NxtPort platform makes it possible to build a vibrant ecosystem of companies, developers and IT players. In that ecosystem, Proximus will expose its digital assets like for instance IoT sensors, SMS services or mobility data for use in new solutions. This way Proximus will not only build the platform with its partners but also expose key assets in a digital way to enable companies to enrich their digital transformation journey.
